Extracurricular Activities

Extracurricular options for upper elementary and middle students include the Notables and Crescendos choirs, Orchestra, Band, Drum Line, Ski Club, Tech Club, and Chess Club.

Middle schoolers can also get involved in the annual musical, Debate Club, Book Club, Yearbook Club, Kilo Watch (environmental education), and the WEB (Where Everyone Belongs) leadership and peer support program.

Middle school modified sports usually include Baseball, Basketball, Cross Country, Football, Lacrosse, Soccer, Softball, Swim Team, Track, and Volleyball.

Ed Smith students typically excel in city-wide and regional Science Fairs, chess competitions, and a wide variety of other activities, ranging from circus performance and street painting to speed skating and robotics challenges at the Museum of Science and Technology (MOST).
